Shauna specializes in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder(OCD) and other anxiety disorders utilizing CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention therapy. OCD can be a very tormenting disorder causing much distress, impacting not only the individual suffering from the disorder, but often relationships and families as well. Shauna has extensive training and many years of experience within the field of OCD and other anxiety disorders, and is dedicated and passionate in helping each individual feel safe, respected and understood as they take back their life and begin their journey towards a healthier, more joyful life.Shauna is a board member of OCD Kansas, and professional member of the International OCD Foundation(IOCDF). OCD can present in many different ways, including contamination fears, harm thoughts, scrupulosity, relationship OCD, checking and repeating compulsions until it feels ‘just right’ is also a common theme of OCD addressed in treatment.Reaching out and taking the first step towards getting help and treatment for anxiety and OCD can itself be challenging and daunting, and feelings of shame and guilt may also show up with OCD. Shauna understands this and brings compassion and care in working with each individual to help them reach their goals and take back their life from fear and anxiety.
