I can be helpful to people who have not benefited from previous therapies, or who have persistent difficulties such as depression and anxiety; people who have turbulent relationships, and people who use/misuse mood-alltering chemicals. These problems are symptoms of attempts at reducing emotional pain; however those attempts have simply brought more unhappiness. Training to become a psychoanalyst has given me insights into better helping people make more lasting life changes at a deeper level, with the goal of finding more joy and satisfaction in life.I specialize in adults and adolescents who have had childhood trauma, suffer from PTSD, persistent mood disorders; with people who have developed ways to cope with their emotions that have become problematic, such as abuse/misuse of mood altering chemicals. I offer ways to address the problems in the present, and ways to sustain the changes.I believe all of us have pain and difficulties which trouble us, so we develop ways not to feel the painful emotions. Therefore we begin to use ways to reduce our suffering such as over-working, overeating, chemical use, avoidance of close relationships. My goal is to help people understand themselves and make the changes they feel they need.
