Many of us who look like we’re doing fine on the outside secretly struggle with a deep, internal fear that we are not “enough.” Many of us also know the pain of feeling marginalized in various ways. Perhaps we are exhausted managing these difficult thoughts and feelings each day. We are further worn down when others don’t recognize the harm that structural oppression causes us. While we are looking for better ways to navigate the world, we also just long to be understood and supported for the nuanced individuals we are. Can you relate? If so, a trusting relationship with a social justice-minded therapist could be meaningful to you.With my backgrounds in social work and ethnic studies, I take a client-centered approach to therapy that looks honestly at the societal factors that shape your experiences while equally recognizing the ways you adapt as an individual.
