Bio:
Daniel J Siegel wrote, “We are always in a perpetual state of being created and creating ourselves.” I believe deeply in the power of stories. If we listen closely to the stories we tell, we can hear our fears, our pains, our hopes, our dreams. I studied and taught personal narrative writing for a long time before I became a therapist, and learned a lot about the process of making meaning through story. As a therapist, I’ve learned a lot about the way relationships and the systems we’re part of can impact our stories, and our brains, the foundations of who we are.I especially enjoy working with clients whose stories are complex. I love working with adoption, trauma, blended families, people in transition, and depression and anxiety. I incorporate elements of narrative therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, family systems therapy, expressive arts therapy, and mindfulness.I create warm, collaborative relationships with my clients where we can explore who you are through the stories you tell, and engage with the process of creating ourselves. There is something very powerful about linking together different parts of ourselves and creating a more cohesive, integrated whole. Stories give our lives form. They all start somewhere.
