Bio:
Binge eating disorder (BED), emotional eating and and yo-yo dieting are problems in and of themselves, and they can also be signs that a deeper issue is at work. Often people who are dealing with these behaviors are also battling shame, anxiety, trauma, depression, isolation, and negative thoughts and feelings about themselves. I support people who have a difficult relationship with food and their bodies in changing on multiple levels. We use effective and proven methods to reduce bingeing and emotional eating, while simultaneously working on a deeper level to transform the way that you relate to yourself as a whole person. While I work individually with every client to help choose the mix of techniques that will be right for them, I find that I primarily draw upon CBT and DBT in order to help people deal with cravings for food and urges to binge. I use concepts from Internal Family Systems, Humanistic and Psychodynamic thought to help to address deeper layers of the problem.I offer telehealth sessions for clients located in Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland. If you are not in one of those locations, please call anyway and I can help to connect you with a provider in your area. Call for a free fifteen-minute phone consultation to help to find the right provider for you, whether it's myself or someone else.
